Joanne is an actor and two-time Emmy Award winning host of Maryland Farm and Harvest, which airs on Maryland Public Television. When not in front of the camera, you can find her relaxing with her husband and dogs, singing and playing guitar in two different bands, or coaching clients who want to be on a healthier journey.

Dairy Cow Shows

August 29th and 30th – Adult exhibitors
September 1st and 2nd – 4-H exhibitors

Youth and adult exhibitors will compete in their respective breed and age divisions culminating with the selection of Supreme Champion of the Maryland State Fair! If you can’t join in-person, be sure to tune in to the livestream of the dairy shows on the Maryland State Fair Facebook page.

Holstein Futurity

Thursday, August 29th at 7:00 p.m.

In this special competition, the spotlight shines on 3-year-old Holstein dairy cows as they compete for the title of Ms. Futurity 2024! These cows were entered to show in this specific class when they were just calves and it’s an exciting evening to see how they have grown into productive dairy cows.

U-Learn Ag Education Area

Open every day of the fair, the U-Learn Ag Education area has various displays and activities for fair-goers to learn more about dairy and agriculture in Maryland!

Be sure to visit our Maryland State Dairy Princess team as part of the U-Learn exhibit. They can answer all your questions about dairy products and dairy farming and have some fun giveaway prizes too!

62nd Maryland Dairy Princess Pageant

Maryland dairy promotion leaders are excited to have the Maryland Dairy Princess Contest as part of the Maryland State Fair. Taking place during the second of the fair’s three-weekend event, the contest will be part of “dairy weekend.” Local Dairy Princesses from seven regions of the state will compete for the state title with interviews and presentations over a two-day period, culminating in the pageant on Friday evening. Come out to meet and hear from the team of regional princesses who will work together to promote Maryland’s Official Beverage – MILK and see who is named the 2024-2025 Maryland State Dairy Princess!
