When thinking of iconic movie beverages, something ‘shaken, not stirred’ is probably top of mind…maybe even a soda or some sort of “juice cleanse.” But, there’s one classic movie beverage that is full of nutritious goodness…milk!
Milk has been in the hands of movie stars for years – from commercials, to TV shows, to the BIG SCREEN!
We thought it would be fun to highlight milk as a supporting actor and share some of our favorite milk movie moments!
1. Napoleon Dynamite, 2004
Using milk as his wingman, Napoleon delivered the best pickup line ever!
The struggle is real when socially awkward Napoleon Dynamite, played by Jon Heder, tries to spark up a conversation with Deb. He notices that she is drinking milk and uses it as a way to compliment her figure. It worked! Don’t vote for Pedro…vote for milk.
2. Catch Me If You Can, 2002
Leo agrees that milk is delicious…even at 40,000 ft.!
Leonardo DiCaprio, playing Frank Abagnale, puts his con-artist ways to the test by hitching a ride on a jetliner. When the flight attendant asks what he’ll like to drink… well…
3. A Clockwork Orange, 1971
Evil psychopaths can enjoy a glass of milk too, right?
…but not ordinary milk. Malcom McDowell playing Alex DeLarge, and his “droogs” visit the Korova Milk Bar where they drink a tall glass of milk mixed with mind altering substances. These “substances” eventually lead them to do some pretty messed up stuff like violently break in to a couple’s home while singing the tune “Singin’ in the Rain.” Here’s some free advice: If you are looking to mix something with milk, we suggest chocolate.
4. No Country for Old Men, 2007
In this 2007 film directed by the Coen brothers milk takes a starring role in one of the pivotal scenes when hitman Anton, played by Javier Bardem, is on the run from Sheriff Ed Tom Bell, played by Tommy Lee Jones. Anton gets a bottle of milk from the fridge and leaves it on the coffee table, only for Bell to find it a short while later and know that they just missed the suspect since the bottle was sweating.
And then he sits down and drinks the milk himself, can’t let a good bottle of milk go bad!
5. Garfield: The Movie, 2004
A milk truck…a milk man…drinking milk?! What a way to start a movie!
Garfield is a cat that truly shares our love for milk! So much that he even rigs up a contraption to steal the neighbor’s milk while also betraying his cat friend, Nermal. Not cool Garfield. Especially since there is always enough milk to go around!
6. Rebel Without a Cause, 1955
In Rebel Without a Cause, Jim Stark, played by the iconic James Dean, drinks milk directly from the bottle. Film experts say it symbolizes the need to find nourishment in the form of love and help, guidance and acceptance during a critical time in character development.

7. Snow White and the Huntsman, 2012
Because why be basic and bathe in water?
In a quest to find eternal youth, Queen Raveena, played by Charlize Theron, takes a dip in a bath full of milk…and why wouldn’t she? Milk has NINE essential nutrients!
8. Bruce Almighty, 2003
MILK FOR EVERYONE!
Jim Carey, playing reporter Bruce Nolan, covers a story about a local bakery beating the record for baking the biggest cookie in Buffalo!…and what better sidekick for a giant cookie than a LOT of milk!
9. Home Alone, 1990
Don’t cry over spilled milk…or tickets.
Macaulay Culkin, playing Kevin McCallister, pushes his brother Buzz because he didn’t save him any pizza (yum!). Buzz backs into cups of milk, spilling them all over the counter. Now look closely – while cleaning the mess, they accidentally throw away Kevin’s plane ticket. Hilarity ensues!
Also, did you catch that cameo appearance by our friend whipped cream??
10. The Big Lebowski, 1998
A Dairy Case of Mistaken Identity
Ok so, he actually drinks half & half, but you can still spot the milk in this beautiful shot of the dairy isle! In this film, Jeff Lebowski, played by Jeff Bridges, is mistaken for a millionaire of the same name which results in two guys breaking into his apartment, demanding money and turning his whole life upside down. Maybe that’s the case in this scene? Maybe he mistakenly thought the half & half was milk?
