Today, $162,500 was donated to the 2020 Fill a Glass with Hope® campaign that gets milk to local food banks. Chester County dairy farmer Duane Hershey from Cochranville joined Pennsylvania First Lady Frances Wolf, Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding, former NFL player Jason Brown and other guests to launch this year’s campaign.
Already, local businesses and organizations have kick-started the year with a 16 percent increase in donations above last year. In total, more than $1 million has been raised in Pennsylvania to-date, and since launching in New York in 2019, nearly $35,000 has been raised.
“It’s meaningful to donate to Fill a Glass with Hope that puts the products that our family farms produce every day — to put milk into food banks across the state.â€_x009d_ — Duane Hershey
Fill a Glass with Hope® Launches 2020 Campaign at Farm Show was initiated by dairy farmers in 2015 and has provided more than 14 million servings of milk to families in need through Feeding Pennsylvania’s eight member foodbanks.
