Pennsylvania Alternate Dairy Princesses Kelly Bliss and Crystal Bomgardner encouraged high school basketball players to “Refuel with Chocolate Milk” at the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association state championships in March at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pa., as part of ADA North East’s sports marketing program.

The dairy promoters presented the game ball to the officials at the start of each game, participated in a Refuel t-shirt toss at half-time, and gave a live public service announcement to the players and crowd about chocolate milk as the ideal sports recovery drink.

The sponsorship between PIAA and ADA North East includes:

  • Chocolate milk is designated as the “official beverage” of the association and athletes
  • Refuel with Chocolate Milk is promoted at all state championship events through signage, distribution of chocolate milk to athletes after the game, public service announcements read during the game, and social media posts.
  • ADA North East provides sports nutrition tips to PIAA coaches and athletes on a monthly basis.
